Job Description:
About Us
b.next is rebuilding biology for engineering. We are making it
possible - and easy - to design and build synthetic cells from
scratch that address a wide range of challenges ranging from
environmental sensing to distributed manufacturing. We believe the
most effective way to unlock the potential of synthetic cells is
through shared infrastructure and collaborative development, and
the core of what we are developing is an open-source platform for
cell building (). We are growing our team with people who share our
passion for democratizing engineerable biology that just works.
The Position
We are looking for a research associate to help our team develop
and test core technologies for building synthetic cells. You will
be involved in experimental work spanning cell-free systems
engineering, protein purification, DNA design, and liposome
preparation, and will help with general lab management and
operations. You will gain first-hand experience in growing a
synthetic biology company and the opportunity to connect with
future-looking biotech groups across industry, academia, and
government.
This role will be a great fit for you if you:
We are based at MBC Biolabs in San Francisco, a biotech hub and
community of some of the world's best scientists, engineers, and
operators. We offer competitive salary compensation commensurate
with experience, along with medical, dental, and vision insurance
coverage, a 401(k) plan, and coffee on tap.
